This is a blog about the community of Bells Corners and the issues it faces.
Bells Corners is a community entirely surrounded by green belt: mature forests and working farms, ski and bike trails. Its residents live in solid little 1960's bungalows along curving streets and crescents, lined with mature trees. There are parks, pools, and schools nearby.
And then there is "the strip". A central theme of this blog is how we as residents and citizens can deal with suburban strip malls, development, re-development, and ways to make our community an oasis rather than a blight.

Oh man, that says it all.
Ha! Ha! The Liberal candidate just left my door and he was fun to talk to. He's a former high school teacher at Merivale.
I asked him why he left the Conservatives to join the Chuck Guité Party and he said he didn't like Harper (too bossy, too controlling, too Muslim-unfriendly) and he liked Pierre even less (too big a potty-mouth).
I told him that he didn't have a hope in heck of taking Pierre down, but he said "just watch me!"
He'll be lucky to finish second.
I asked him him what he thought were the important local Bells Corners issues and he said "the bridge over the river to Moodie".
